The devices window will allow you to add or remove devices that can be viewed or configured in MontavueGO. You have a few options for adding devices. You can let MontavueGO search for available devices and add them, Manually add them yourself if you wish to view the cameras remotely using MontavueGO on a laptop or you can import a device list if you have one.

MontavueGO can automatically search your network to find your NVR or IP camera. To add an NVR or IP Camera using this method, click on the Search icon in the upper left-hand corner.

This will bring up the auto search window. This will automatically search your network for devices. To add a device from the list of found devices simply check the box next to the device that you want and click add.

The Login Information window will then appear. Carefully type in the username and password that you used for that specific NVR or IP Camera.

You will now see your device listed. You should also see a green dot under online status which indicates that the device is working correctly.

MontavueGO will allow you to manually add an NVR or IP Camera by using either the devices IP address or Serial Number. Using the Serial Number of your NVR will allow you to access the device remotely as this is a P2P connection. To add a device manually click on the add button

Enter a name for the Device. This can be anything and does not need to be the same as the name on the NVR. Select the Method you want to use to add the NVR. You can choose from IP/domain or SN. SN will allow you to access your NVR remotely whereas using IP/Domain you can only access the device while you are on the same network as that device. By default, the port is 37777 there is no need to change this unless you are adding devices from other manufacturers that use a different port. If you have groups set up you can select the group you wish to add the device too. Finally, enter the user name and password that you used for that device and click either add or save and continue.

MontavueGO will allow you to save and import devices lists. This will allow you to simply import the list of saved devices without having to enter the username, password, SN or IP address. All of this information is saved in an XML file that can simply be imported. To export a device list select the devices you would like to export by marking the devices check box on the left. Then click export.

This will bring up the device export window. Click on the file icon to select a location to save the file to

Select the location you would like to save the file to. Then enter a name for the list and click save.

Now that you have selected a destination folder and a name for the file click on backup

You will then receive a notification that you have successfully exported device config file.

All of this information is saved in an XML file that can simply be imported. To import a device list click on the import icon.

Now click on the folder icon to browse for the location of your device file.

Select your device list file and click open

Now click import to import your device list

Your devices will now appear and you will receive a message stating that you have Successfully imported device config file
